The Tilley hat

Good solid hat. Protects from the sun and rain. Because of its construction you can stuff it anywhere. Chin strap keeps it one when the wind picks up. Washes easy.

Having said that, I now rarely use one. I find it takes up too much room in my pack and have gone over to layers of bandanas which weigh nothing. Plus I feel like a geek with it on. But that is a personal opinion. Looks good on bird watchers. Which is why I gave it to my Dad. (•:

I agree, it is ridicilously expensive for a hat, but this is not just a hat! This one really feels totally genuine and I really love this hat!

Yes they are not cheap. They are very durable and provide great protection from the elements! Tilley hat's are guaranteed for life! I have had one replaced 3 times from wearing it out. Due to the fact I ware one five days a week about nine months of year for work,surveying. I also ware one on most outings in the mountains. It's a great piece of gear!

I have never encountered a company that has a replacement policy like Tilley. I have worn out 2 of the Hemp TH4s, returned them to Tilley with my forms and have received my new hat.
