Rambling Up in the Green

A day hike in the hills of San Francisco north bay

Packing camera on an invigorating winter day in the Marin County hills. I did a circular hike from Big Rock Pass, over Loma Alta Hill, on around a south ridge. Then down into a little valley full of mossy trees and ferns. Back up the northwest ridge of Loma Alta Hill again and then back down to the pass with sense of clarity and satisfaction that often comes with a good day out! February 14, '09
Even though we've had some rain the drought threatened Bay Area finally got the first (and hopefully not the last) big winter storm the next day. The Sierra got several feet of much needed snow as well!
