Radio broadcasts on 8 GMRS and 14 FRS frequencies with 38 interference eliminator codes. NOAA weather receiver allows you to monitor local weather broadcasts and receive audible warnings when storm warnings are issued. Three Eavesdrop Reducer codes scramble private messages to help prevent eavesdropping. Large backlit LCD display with signal strength indicator and battery meter indicator. Built-in VOX provides hands-free communication with no additional accessories required!

This is by far the best radio to date, hands down. I have tried quite a few other radios, most of them Motorola or Cobra, and the T7200 is the most durable, feature-packed radio out there. There are some interesting new hybrids out that combine many radio features and GPS in one unit, but the quality and feature base is probably like buying a combo TV/VCR. The number of channels, scramble code combinations, and ringer codes makes this radio perfect for a duo or large climbing teams.
These cost a little more than most other radios, but the features are worth every penny.

Untitled ReviewThe weather radio feature is one of the most useful fuctions since it will automatically alert you to weather warnings. They are extremely durable: my brother dropped one my T7200s about forty feet onto granite rocks and it still worked albeit with some scratches to the plastic casing. I was amazed!
