Good 2 way radios
This is the hunter's version of Midland's 18 mile 2 way radios. This is the second set of Midland 2 ways I have owned. I bought these for the extended range of 18 miles, and not for the hunting model features. The 5 watt output does extend the distance considerably, but I have yet to talk to anyone that is more than 8 miles away. 18 miles may be possible if you were on a high point and there were no obstacles between you and the other person, but that is questionable. The hunting version has camo and animal sounds if you don't want the standard call tones. This is kind of nice. The rechargeable battery pack seems to have a decent life. I have left mine on for a couple days, not using it a lot, and it has not run down. It does have a battery life on the screen so it can be monitored.
