When you need extra insulation against the elements, good shock absorption and support under heavy loads this is the sock for you. Heavy cushioning throughout the E.T. makes it perfect for hardcore hiking, long treks and heavy-laden backpacking.

Heavyweight cushioning throughout the sock provides extra comfort, insulation and protection.

Elasticized ankle brace holds heel in place and allows for less bulk and greater forward flex in the boot.

High Density Footbed (HDF) for improved performance, comfort and durability. Crew height.

Content: 85% SmartWool, 12% nylon, 3% elastic

•• Maximum cushioning provides protection for extended periods.
•• Construction: Top is 2x1 rib welt w/lycra to hold the sock up and in place.
•• Combined with a high density padding, it assures a comfortable snug fit and shin protection.
•• Side panel is flat knit to reduce compression on foot.

The best socks I have ever owned and I probably have 6 or 8 pair. Feet stay dry, warm, and comfortable. I have never had a blister. They dry very fast.

Excellent sock. I eco the previous reviewer. There is no similar product.

I decided on these socks for my hiking activities. Overall I am pleased with the socks comfort and aversion to blisters. However, I am concerned about the durability of the product. I have had two pair develop 'runs' after only a couple uses. I don't think I would care so much if the sock weren't 17$ per pair!!

Its like a cut down version of the mountaineering sock, without being to warm. A brilliant pair of socks. I have never got a blister whilst wearing a pair.

Worth the $
I wear the expedition weight smartwool socks for long hikes and love them. I don't find it necessay to wear liners with them and don't get blisters. I've worn them in cold weather and haven't had cold toes. They wear well, too.

Best Socks Ever
Will never use another sock on the trail. Never a blister, always comfortable, never need more than 3 pair for 7 straight days of hiking. I own 9 pair and still wearing the originals I purchased 10 years ago (they are a little worn but still great for 2-3 day hikes).
