Overview

Hoher Tenn is located on a northern secondary ridge of the Hohe Tauern range, between Fuscher Tal and Kapruner Tal(valleys). It is separated from its higher neighbour Grosses Wiesbachhorn on the south by Wiesbachscharte(3031m),and followed on the ridge northwest-and northeastwards by less independent elevations only. As part of the alpine main ridge,Hoher Tenn cosists of cristalline rocks and decorated by smaller rests of glaciers on its north face. Despite of its superb shape seen from the south, rocks are loose owing to advanced melting of permafrost in the upper region of the mountain.
