Practice makes perfect
Practicing on the snout of the Rofenkarferner
Breslauer Hütte They say a man is never too old to learn, and so I booked an advanced mountaineering skills course with the Dutch Alpine club. The course took place mostly in the Ötztal Alps, with a few days in the neighboring Stubaier Alps. Besides practicing, we put in a couple of fine climbs.
This album shows photos from the area around the Rofenkarferner and the Breslauer Hütte, where we practiced a couple of days, and then enjoyed a fine climb of the Wildspitze North face.
Enjoy!
Standing below the Wildspitze north face, with the NE ridge on the left and the NW ridge on the right. It's 250m to the top. Obviously, the middle of the face is less attractive, so we'll climb a little bit to the right of the rocks. But first we have to get across the bergschrund.
