The Zenix is the first all-LED headlamp to introduce "HyperBright" LED technology. These "HyperBright" LEDs are compact, incredibly energy efficient and provide five times more light than traditional LEDs. Their energy efficiency results in a reduced environmental impact, because battery changes are less frequent and LEDs never need to be replaced. We’ve designed the Zenix to generate an intense, focused beam of LED light—a beam that rivals that of lower-wattage xenon bulbs. This lamp incorporates a “lensed” Hyperbright LED that is flanked on each side by a SuperBright LED; a switch allows the user to toggle between the SuperBright LEDs for proximity illumination and the lensed HyperBright LED for beam-throwing light. Unlike xenon bulbs, LEDs never need to be replaced. Waterproof to IPX standards and weighing a mere 90 grams, the Zenix sets a new standard in backcountry hands-free lighting. A great option for the user who wants an energy efficient, beam-projecting headlamp. Approximate burn time of 12-15 hours at full strength, and 140 hours on two SuperBright LEDs. Reengineered battery pack holds 3 AAA batteries

· Hyperbright LEDs provide 5 times the light of traditional LEDs, equal to a longlife xenon bulb

· First lamp to use lensed and focused LED technology

· Three LEDs total: two Superbright LEDs, one lensed Hyperbright LED

· Intense, focused LED light beam and proximity lighting in one unit

i love this headlamp!!! Long battery life around camp and in tent, but still has adequate power for early morning summit climbs. Exceptional battery life is the kicker for me. In my opinion, can;t go wrong with this headlamp.

I'm really happy with this headlamp. I've been wanting one that is lightweight, has multiple lighting options and that is fairly efficient in terms of battery needs. This lamp seems to be the best fit for those needs. It has two superbright LEDS for an energy efficient light around camp, and a pretty good beam from the hyperbright LED for hiking/climbing at night. Although it isn't quite as strong as many halogen lights, I have used it on several night hikes so far without a problem. It seems they could have put on another hyperbright LED and let you use one alone, or both if more light is needed. Nonetheless it appears to outperform other LED lights I have seen or used.
It is fairly light weight and fits well with the small battery pack on the back where it won't feel front heavy.

So far the best LED lamp I've used and the battery life is outstanding. Enough light to do anything that doesn't require fast movement and it has a lightweight feel on the old noggin. My smallest complaint is that the on/off button can get lost from your touch if the lamp is directed in a downward position and especially if you have gloves on.

Great little headlamp with great big power.

I've not yet found a task that this didn't have the light I needed.

My only complaint is the toggle on/off button is hard to reach at times, and there is no "signal" option.

Long lasting battery life and rugged construction/waterproofing sold me.

Great Headlamp! I have the '04 version that is described above that takes 3 AAA batteries. The newer version takes 2 AA and has a few more features but has the same basic shape and function. The light is all I need while on the mountain or in a cave. The range is great and options are enough for someone who is not into "all the options". It is light and not bulky and comfortable. The only issue I have is that it is a little hard to click it on and off with a gloved hand.

Great Little Light
Wow! First time I've used this and it's impressive! Didn't have to use it on the trail, but while going out at night to use the facilities. You wear this and you'll have no problem at all in the dark. Easy to use and easy to adjust.

Come to the Light
This is a great light. The batteries last a long time. I have 2 of them just for the fun of it. It fits on my head, on my hat, and on my helmet. I don't know how I would improve it.
