Welcome in the next generation of Suunto Watches. Packed with all of the great features and quality you've come to expect from Suunto, the new 6 series is updated with improved functionality, accuracy, and new features. The Suunto X6 is specifically designed for Cross Sport applications and features an Altimeter, Barometer, Thermometer, Compass, Watch and PC Downloading (via serial port only currently, and no support for Macintosh). Once your data is downloaded, you can review it with the included software, and upload it to
SuuntoSports.com, where you can interact with fellow enthusiasts and organize / participate in virtual competitions (in other words: it took me 6 days to climb Everest, how long did it take you?). You can thereby compare your altitude and other results with other users. Although the body is plastic, the face has been upgraded to mineral glass, and the interface has been completely rewritten and operates similar to a cell phone with graphical displays and a menu systems.

Untitled ReviewI wish I would of bought the heart rate version to help with training but the deal I got on this a few years ago made it worth skipping the HR feature.
The altitude function works best with regular calibration at known points. That said there are many times I forget to calibrate it and find its still on target from the previous outing.
