Very durable. You probably already own one or two. If you use them in the winter use a parka to keep the content from freezing. There is also an optional mouth piece you can insert into the bottle that makes it a sipper so you don't splash your face with the water.
I use Nalgenes mainly in the wintertime. I made homemade insulating cozies for them so I can keep my drinks from freezing. I also use Nalgenes to hold hot drinks. They're indestructible and classic. Love 'em!
I think pretty much Everyone has one of these. I have 4. One time I dropped mine about a hundred feet off a mountain in the Sawtooths of Idaho but I was able to get down and get it. Nothing happened to it even though it had smacked a couple large rocks on the way down. A tough bottle that everyone should have or at least try.
I have like 7 of these. My family uses them as hiking bottles. As tommi said they are indestructible (I have dropped them a couple hundred times and they look almost new). They are a little bit heavy but are good for day hikes.
A must have for any outdoor excursion. The actual casing is unbreakable (to my knowledge, we droped it nearly 200 ft in J Tree and it held up fine), however, the lid can get some wear and tear eventually.
I have quite a collection of these from over the years
and they are practically indestructible. I did have one eventually bend in the center after pressure when wedged deep down in a raft last summer. The raft tubes did a real number on it but I used it anyway since my water really stayed cold down low in the raft! And I throw my bottles out after they get scratches inside from cleaning etc.
These are the best. I have dropped one of mine off a 150 foot cliff and if didn't break. I'm not trying to claim that they are unbreakable, because I have probably broken three or four, but then again I like to play a game called throw my Nalgene.
I have had several of these water bottles over the years and they have all gotten cracks in them and been thrown out. I have switched to Sig aluminum bottles.
I own one of these and it was given to me. The bottle is certainly durable but the excessive weight and high price makes this product seem impractical. I don't know why these are so popular.
