Good Alpine Boot
Good boots for alpine climbing on snow, ice and rock. Light and nimble compared to plastics but not warm enough for ice climbing in coldest part of winter. The soles are great on rock but wear out quickly if you bash a lot of broken rock and scree.

Great Boot
I've worn out quite a few pair of mountain boots in my life and these are the best I owned so far. I would not recommend them for really cold conditions but for 3 season mountaineering in the west they are great. For years I wore my Galibiers and I have a big callus on each heel to show for it. More than once I carried a spare pair of hiking boots to avoid the pain of hiking in a full-shanked boot on an approach. I took my never worn Evos out for test run last month and decided to wear them for both the approach and climb and I was surprised at how comfortable they were right out of the box. I logged over 10 miles on all kinds of terrain (flat, steep, scree, hard snow and rock) and didn't bother to take them off after I got back to our rig.
