Description:

This smaller and lighter version of the Expedition Ascender has all the same features of its larger relative, except for the handle. It is good for glacier travel and light wall ascents or simply for tossing in the pack when you are not sure whether you will need an ascender. An excellent choice for those who only occasionally use ascenders.

I will say the same thing as I did the "Croll"the conterpart of the basic. This is the right ascender if your looking for light weight and minimal bulkiness in my opinion a prusic not should not even be an option the ascender is the only way to go.Like the "Croll" the Basic is a great piece of gear.

An absolute useful piece of gear, for crevasse rescue or ascent on a fix rope, very light and solid.
