Everyone may remember MH food when they used to have the little baggie/tray things that you added water to, then put the little cardboard ring aroung the top. The baggie/tray thing not only added weight, but added to the waste. And it was a pain in the neck to use. NO MORE! Mountain House finally got with the program and put their food in sealable pouches...no more stupid tray. That improvement alone get's them five stars.

Anyway, these eggs are the best I've had (freeze dried) and the bacon adds nice flavoring. Most backpacking dried eggs require cooking after adding water. Not these......they are ready to eat after sitting in boiling water for a few minutes. Be careful about adding too little water. It's better to add a little extra water which can then be drained before eating.

Alan's Breakfast Burritos:
MH Eggs
Flour Tortillas
Chedder Cheese (pre-grated or sliced)
Salsa (the little fast-food packets)
Warm your tortillas by using the steam from the boiling water.
Enjoy with sunrise!

Packaging wise definatlely an improvement over the old system. This is one of the better freeze dried meals. It is hard for me to give high stars to any freeze dried meal as I am sick of most of them. But this one deserves mention. The simpler tasting ones are better in my books and this one falls in that category. Cheers Bill

Yummy
Best with a tortilla and hot sauce or salsa - wrap it up to make a breakfast burrito! But don't just save it for breakfast, it makes a very filling and tasty meal anytime ;)

Best I've had
This stuff is pretty good! Infinitely easier to deal with than the kind you have to cook. As usual, the portion is diet sized. Adding a piece of pita bread or a tortilla goes a long way toward filling one's gut. Freeze dried cheddar is another good addition.

Good flavor
Doesn't compare with fresh-cooked eggs and bacon dripping with hot grease, but for freeze-dried food, this has pretty good flavor. Makes for a quick hot breakfast to start the day off.

Mmm mmm good!
I like this camping breakfast and it keeps my stomach full for a long time. It also gives me energy to hike.

Pretty Good
Of course I'd prefer the real thing but this is a nice break from always eating granola bars and cold pop tarts for breakfast. The flavor is pretty good too.

Yummy
For trail food this stuff is pretty good. Could use more bacon but the eggs are rather good.
