First climb up Granite Peak with my son Seth, Sep 2002, Saturday, Labor Day Weekend. We parked at the Mystic Lake Trailhead and started up about an hour after sun up. We met 50 mph headwinds on the plateau and scrambled to the top of Froze-To-Death Mountain.

From Froze-To-Death Mountain we pressed West across the plateau in 50 mph winds.

We found some wind breaks about a mile away from the West edge of the plateau.
The wind was to strong to get a tent up so we rolled out our bags and slept under the stars.
