Overview + Approach

The North face offers a nice climb for beginners and training courses.

The climb can be reached within 45 minutes (depending on the snow conditions).
From Oberwalder Hütte head NE to Bockkarscharte - after Bockkarscharte turn left (NW) to the Bergschrund.

Route Description

The climb lasts only 100 - 150m (up to 3 pitches) - steepness approx. 45° - Difficulties may vary at cornice and bergschrund. (up to 80°).

Descent: follow the SSW ridge back to Oberwalder Hütte (approx 15 minutes)

Route Comment

Early in the season (May-June) there is allmost no bergschrund and the climb is very easy. It can be done solo, there is no real hazard (if you fall, you'll slide down gently and have a lot of fun!)
