Overview

I've visited this beautiful part of Italy in July 2009. Although a lot of people told me the weather in Brenta is very changeable (afternoon storms or rains), we have a week of sunny weather. It seems the last winter was very rich in snowfalls, because there was still remnants of snow (compared to photos found in Internet). So, the ferrata sets and crampons were very useful.

Preferable way how to reach ferratas in Dolomiti di Brenta is hut-to-hut walking, but we have stayed in Madonna di Campiglio, so it was 4 hours of walking every day to get closer to the ferratas.

Ferratas here are well marked, well protected, they don't go to the summits, but they are traversing the slopes of beautifully shaped towers.

Here is a list of ferratas we made:

1) Via Bocchette Centrali - Rifugio Vallesinella (1513 m)- path nr. 318 - Rifugio Brentei(2175 m) - path nr. 323 - Rifugio Alimonta (2580 m) - Bocca del Armi (2747 m) - Bocchetta del Campanile Basso (2620 m) - Bocchetta di Brenta - Rif. Brentei - Vallesinella - 10 hours

2) Sentiero Alfredo Benini - cable railway from Madonna di Campiglio to Passo del Groste (2442 m) - path nr. 305 - Bocchetta Alta dei Camosci (2859 m) - Bocca Alta di Vallesinella - Sentiero attrezzato Dallagiacoma nr. 303 - Rif. Tuckett (2270 m) - path nr. 316 - Passo del Groste (2442 m) - 7 hours

3) Via ferrata Oliva Detassis + Via ferrata delle Bocchette Alte - Rif. Vallesinella (1513 m) - path nr. 318 - Rif. Brentei (2175 m) - path nr. 323 - Vedretta dei Brentei - path nr. 396 - Bocchetta Bassa dei Massodi (2796 m) - path nr. 305 - Spallone dei Massodi (2999 m) - Bocca del Tuckett (2647 m) - Rif. Tuckett (2270 m) - Rif. Vallesinella - 11 hours

4) Cima Presanella - Val Genova (900 m) - Malga di Nardis shed (1474 m) - Malga di Fiori shed - Bivacco Roberti (2205 m) - Vedretta di Nardis - Cima Presanella (3558 m) and back to Biv. Roberti. In the morning back to Val Genova. Approximately - 13-14 hours

Cima Presanella is rather easy summit, but the path isn't marked, so you can have difficulties with orientation (mainly in the fog). Because there was a lot of snow, we can ascent to the summit directly via Vedretta di Nardis.

Parents

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
