Cobb Mountain Area and Pine Mountain Clear Lake
It has been colder in May than it was January around here. We've has some thunderstorms. The higher weather I use to observe from sea level over Mt. Tam in Marin County is now at the front door up here. But no Bay area fog. That marine layer hits a wall across Napa Valley with Mt. St. Helena and The Palisades. When dropping into Napa Valley from "St. Helena Pass" you get a view down the Coast Range to the Bay Area. If it's all white everything will be socked in for maybe a hundred miles or more near the coast. Instant weather report!Pine Mountain is a rolling hill on the north shore that extends out over the lake right across from Mt. Konocti. Although not a high peak it's location affords one of the best views around the lake.
