Went out to Browns Peak/ Four Peaks on Saturday morning. Got to the TH after a somewhat long dirt approach that took about an hour on FR 143. Started up the trail at 730.
Looking up the chute to Browns - I think its called the Scree Chute but it was pretty solid for the most part
Obligatory summit shot 830
Looking south at peaks 2, 3, and 4.
Summit of peak 2 at 930. Looking south to 3 and 4.
Looking north to Browns peak from summit of 2.
Looking east from peak 2 at Lake Roosevelt.
Summit of peak 3 at 1045 looking south to peak 4.
I skipped peak 4 because I was feeling lazy and it was looking unimportant and brushy.
Descended down chute between 3 & 4 west to Amethyst Mine and the trail. Back to car by 100 PM for a total CTC (without peak 4) of 5.5 hours solo. Peak 4 would have added another 1 to 2 hours.
Route went at mostly class 3 with some 4. I'm sure you could find some low 5th class if you wanted to or were offroute. The rock was solid for the most part. Got pretty lucky with the routefinding and had no errors.
If you're a hiker this route could be uncomfortable. If you have a bit of rock skills and are comfortable with a little exposure it is a nice day.
