overview

This is a recommendation for a unusual descent from Dreieckspitze. The route is not marked, but at some parts footprints are visible. It is not difficult for an experienced hiker but some sense for orientation is necessary. In the alps such a hiking route is rather unusual.

Route Description

Go down from the summit to the unnamed notch (2874 m) between Barenluegspitze and Dreieckspitze (this is _not_ Baerenluegscharte pass, that is NW of Barenluegspitze)
Try to cross a field of huge blocks as convenient as possible to reach the first plain with some grass. A next steep of the valley brings you down to some nice little lakes.

Just stay near the little creek until you reach the hiking trail of the Arthur-Hartdegen-Weg. This one brings you with some ups and downs back to Obere Kofleralm pasture where you meet your ascent route. You can
- either follow this trail (Nr. 8a) down to Rain / Riva (parking north of the village in Knuttental valley, app. 1690 m) or
- branch off to the left below Untere Kofleralm and descend via Kofler farm (1765 m) and the houses of Eppach 1687 m) over nice meadows to the parking at Saege (1591 m) in Bachertal valley

Essential Gear

hiking gear is sufficient. Poles are convenient for such a route.
