"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

One of my favorite places to beMy sister, my German Shepherd, and I did a weekend trip out to the surrounding areas of Hells Hole. Had a great time! Lots of rain, and of course the 50 river crossings!

Geronimo lives...I spent a few nights in the canyon and it was fantastic. I saw not a soul until one evening I was gathering wood for a fire and out of nowhere an old Indian rode up to me. He had long hair, wore a vest and a hat and had a mule loaded down with supplies on it. He said he was tracking me and I asked him where he was headed. In was all he said. I asked him his name and he said Eddie. I think he was squatting in the wilderness. Who know who long he had lived out there. The Gila is certainly vast enough that someone can go unnoticed indefinately.
