ponderous ponderosa pineThat's a ponderosa pine worthy of the title! Here in Colorado, they don't as often grow to such proportions. -Sarah

Re: ponderous ponderosa pineThroughout California, usually on the western or ocean-facing slopes, the ponderosas get pretty big. This is definitely one of the biggest I have ever seen. It's trunk is probably at least 6' in diameter and well over 100' tall; probably closer to 200'. Oh, and the Cedar tree just to the right isn't a lot smaller... probably 5' in diameter.
