Good shot!

Nice shot John! I might try to take an ice-climbing class this Winter with a friend.

Re: Good shot!

Thanks David! You should definately give it a try - it's a LOT of fun. I even got to follow on WI3/3+ on a single 7.6mm rope! And to think I was nervous about climbing on a single 9mm back in October. The route in the photo is a 2-pitch WI4/4+. We might be going again in Feb. If you're interested, I can let you know if / when things firm up.

Re: Good shot!

Thanks John--that would be fun! I have no experience, however.

Once again—great job with this photo. It makes me feel like them there. Have fun skiing this weekend!

Re: Good shot!

David,

No worries on experience. There's a lot of TR there on Chouinard Falls and the Right Flow. If you have a harness, boots, crampons, helmet, and ideally tools (though not 100% necessary) you should be good to go. I'm not sure when I'll head up again but drop me an email if you're interested.

Re: Wow!!

Radek,

You should definately do it! Not only is it really fun and the scenery awesome, we need more ice climbing photos on SP! The only problem is that now I don't have time for everything ... hmm J-Tree or Lee Vining, decisions decisions ... I think the right decision is to quit my job and just go climbing ;-)

Re: Wow!!

Agreed John!

This job bs does get in the way!

We're also trying to juggle our outdoor hobbies in what little free time we have (scuba gear & mtn. bikes are both collecting dust/rust in the closet).....but I'd certainly love to give ice climbing a shot.
