Bottchers Gap & Los Padres Dam
05/06/2006: Day hike from Bottchers Gap.
11/19/2005: Day hike from Los Padres Dam via Carmel River. Despite its bad press, this is a good route in autumn. River crossings were confusing in the dark.
11/14/2004: Day hike from Bottchers Gap. Black oaks had great fall color.
Route Climbed: Ventana trail from Bottchers Gap Date Climbed: November 10, 2002
Also dayhiked from Bottchers Gap. I think Bob understates the difficulty of this hike--when I check in "Topo!" it claims the roundtrip elevation gain to be over 8500 ft (which better agrees with how my legs felt after this than Bob's number).
A nice morning, but an absolutely wet afternoon. I got soaked on the way back. Pics/TR on my website (see profile).
