"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Run up to end the year - 1 hour round tripHawes trail system gets you to the saddle, and it's a short, steep social trail from there. Took some time to explore all the sub peaks as well. Good stuff.

Quick little hikeThe girlfriend's parents winter in Mesa so we're always looking for something in the area. This along with EJ get you away from any crowds and offer up some exercise before the pool on a down day. Both routes are straight forward but may take a little poking around on braided, sandy roads for the user trail.

Wish I knew about the trailI barged up the sandy east slopes from the saddle, which worked but was loose. Found the path which I followed down. Nice hike, nice views from the top.

All aloneI hiked Usery Pass Benchmark all alone. There was nobody else around. I was relieved to find a good summit trail.
