Route: Chihuahua Gulch
With friends and husband. Don't remember how long it took, but it was a really nice day. We ascended from the grizzly/torreys saddle and descended down Torreys sw ridge to avoid going down all the loose scree on the west slope that spans from the saddle to the top...much easier. Wanted to bag Grays too, but friends were not feeling up to it and weather was possible.

Route Climbed: Grays Trail/Grays Peak Traverse
I'm not positive of the date as I hadn't starte keeping a jounal at that point. It was in 1978 over a holiday weekend and the weather was just perfect, so I picked the July 4th time frame. My three companions and I went up Grays first then traversed to Torreys. It was one of those prefect days to be on a summit.

Torrey's Summit
After the 1st snow of the year, we had a nice snowy hike. 9hrs worth...
Route Climbed: Kelso Ridge Date Climbed: July 9, 2005
Loved Kelso Ridge, what a fun route! Before the knife ridge, directly climb the class 4 head wall, its more direct and I thought was really enjoyable. This was my second time up Torreys, the first was in combo with Grays from Chihuahua Gulch in June 2003 when I still lived in Chicago.
Route Climbed: South Slopes Date Climbed: August 10th, 2003
I got a beautiful early start, and as I proceeded on the trail I could notice people just getting up. It was perhaps 5:30 am and I had already comfortable distance made up. I chose to hit this up instead of Grays as most people do 1st, I got the privacy and the solitude on the summit that I sought. I also got a chance to hang out with the mountain goats....
Route Climbed: Kelso Ridge Date Climbed: Summer of 2004
What a fun climb. I loved the exposure, and the 4th class climbing. We did it without ropes, but we came down the standard route. Cant say i would reccomend downclimbing the ridge without a rope and protection.
Route Climbed: Kelso Date Climbed: october 21 2005
Harry sugar snow covering most rock including the knife edge. Spent lots of time uncovering holds and trying to kick steps into powder covered scree, not a lot of fun. Could have used snowshoes for decent, lots of post holing. summit all to ourselves. Eight hours for a four hour trip.
