Re: Aaaah, warm granite!Hi Ms.Castro: I bet you are homesick. To tell you a little secret, the granite will be here just long enough to see you back and maybe even longer. A good weekend trip, warm California sunshine, a beer and a great burger at Joane's, good climbing, good company, what's better than that? I don't know. Happy Holidays, Deb, stop by when you're up here. Cheers, Alois.

Great photo!I still haven't been to Tahquitz but will have to make it there sometime, especially after seeing pictures like this. Thanks for sharing all of your information about the Southern Sierra, enjoyed your Needles notes too... going to head there next weekend, hope it's still warm!
PS. I saw you took part of the older Needles/Sequoia guidebooks (which seem impossible to find anymore) - any news of a newer book in progress?

Re great photo!Hi Peter, re. the guidebooks, I don't know of any attempts at newer books. Greg Vernon always told me that his effort only cost him money, because so few people would buy the books. Those books list some pretty remote areas and relatively few people go there. I don't think Greg will do an update.
Needles are at almost 10,000' so the temps might be marginal this late.
Even some of the easy stuff on Tahquitz is good climbing, we just did the NE Face again last Thursday, it is great and really some climbing for the 5.6 rating. Cheers, Alois.
