Fun day hike  Sucess!

Day hiked from Roads End. It took a lot longer than we anticipated due to the multiple overflowing streams we had to cross. We also lost the trail multiple times on the other side of Sphinx Creek. Climbing the lower summit was a bit spicy, but the view from the top was gorgeous!

From Roads End  Sucess!

With Tom, below. He wasn't as weak as he might leave you to believe. He did a good lead on the prow, too. Trip Report

Dayhiked both  Sucess!

Weak day for me as the approach from Cedar Grove severely kicked my butt. North peak an easy class 3 scramble. Since I had my rock shoes, Bob "let" me lead the 5.6 northern lower peak (or the sphinx head). My first lead -- amazing hanging over thousands of feet. We started shuffling toward Palmer Mtn but easy decision to descend.

Route Climbed: From the notch. Date Climbed: October 15, 2005

Made it to the top of the north summit. Didn't make it to the lower south summit, I got spooked trying to downclimb to the notch when a gust of wind tried to blow me off.
