The route of the first winter ascent (12 February 1985) on Cho Oyu (8188 m / 26,864 ft) by Maciej Berbeka and Maciej Pawlikowski (repeated three days later by Zygmunt Andrzej Heinrich and Jerzy Kukuczka). This was a new route via the SE Pillar (most winter first ascents on 8000m peaks followed the normal routes of their respective mountains).
