Telescope Peak Trail Run.

So It just happen that I had 2 days off from work last week, I was scheduled on Sunday rather than Wednesday So I thought I would be a great time to run Telescope Peak in the Panamint Range.
I really like running mountain trails, especially new ones with scenic views and blue skies. I've been looking at this peak for some time now so having the opportunity and the weather on mys side I decided to go for the peak. Getting up there via the 395 is an adventure just itself, its like going through and past the High desert and continuing all the way to Trona for a few hrs of rest before continuing up to the the Trail Head at the Charcoal Kins. I was really surprised to see a few hardy campers in and around the area especially Wildrose and Thorndike.
After a little stretching I was off and running to the actual trail head just past  Mahogany flats. Its about 7 miles each way with a gain of elevation here and there and mix of saddles and switchbacks.

Its really not too bad with the exception of the uphill thing and all those loose rocks, other than that it has some great single track action. I did enjoy the first saddle where you go over rodgers peak and around Bennett peak. That area is marked with a stack of rocks. you can see both valleys from this spot, Death Valley and the Panamint Valley.
