Took a WFA course in Idyllwild Sat/Sun, then carried a 5 gallon water bottle (and then some) to the top of Tahquitz at night before the drive home, training for Denali. Still lots of snow on the trail up high!

Wore me out! But worth it
Hiked up from Humbert Park on 11/15 and spent the night in Tahquitz Valley! Got pretty chilly.....into the low 20's! Both Sunday and Monday were really nice, sunny, and in the high 50's. Hiked to the peak on 11/16. They had closed the fire look-out the day before, so we were all by ourselves at the top. Top trails near the peak were very icy! Great hike! Beautiful area!

One of the peaks we bagged while approaching from the Fobes trail and leaving from the Devil's Slide. Pretty but cold morning. Love the lookout and wished I could have stayed there the night before rather than my bivy in 50 mph winds.

wow.....am I outta shape or what?!?
Tahquitz you kicked my behind I can not deny you that....I was itching for you to release the firm grip you had on me. Somehow I pulled through....and all of this for a measly 8,000 ft peak....you've gotta be kidding me. Better hit the gym.

My first climb ever
Still have my squirrel card, which is the only way I know the exact date. Don't remember much from the hike except that we could see the smoke of a good-sized forest fire from the lookout on top.

Tahquitz Peak via Devil's Slide
Couldn't have picked a better day, little bit of snow left on the last part of the trail before the lookout. Great hike.
