This trail was the biggest surprise in my day of hiking around here. Besides all the beetle kill, Winter Storm Atlas aftermath in the forest (what's left of it), finding a major re-work of the trail, along with new location for where the spur starts, was quite a surprise.
Two young families made a major effort to herd their small kids up the rocky summit, while keeping them from wandering off the edge. Interesting what one sees sometimes.
After climbing the #9 trail on the way with my family, we came down the #4 trail. I just remember that my dad was not doing well on the way down since we had run out of water and it was an incredibly hot day. This was sometime in early August 2000.

hiked a few times
I've hiked up trail #4 and down trail #9 twice, once in May of 2006 and again in July of 2007. Great views from the top!

Descent trail
Left the summit and masses of people and took trail 4 back to Sylvan Lake. Nice side trip through Cathedral Spires and Little Devil's tower views. Hardly anyone on this trail and seemed less maintained than trail 9, great descent route.

Shortcut to Hell?I used this route to access the spur trail to Little Devils Tower.
