Summited last week while attempting all of the immediate peaks in the lake agnes cirque. Coming from Richoften, the rock quality could be worse and there is not too much elevation change to manage. Pushing past Static towards the crags provides really good routefinding opportunities, and a few mandatory 4/5th class workarounds.
After bailing at Nokhu, I decided to take one of the talus filled gullies back at the top of static down to minimize time on the ridge with storm clouds rolling in. Needless to say, the scree chute makes for a sucky descent. The east ridge of Static or back down Richoften are definitely the best bet for risk mitigation, but do require some elevation gain before you descend.
Would highly recommend static to anyone that finds themself on richoften already.

Static + Richthofen
Started just before 3PM at American Lakes TH. Climbed up East Ridge of Static Peak first. Followed connecting ridge to Mount Richthofen. Idea was to descend to Lake Agnes. Wasn't sure if it was from the North Saddle or South Saddle of Richthofen. Ended up choosing the more southern one (way worse) and got myself into the worst terrain I have ever been on. Easily class 5 with rotten and loose rock. Highly suggest NEVER going down or up that way. It was dark by the time I got down to Lake Agnes. While I could have hiked the final 7 mi back, some folks that were camping were nice enough to offer me a ride back to the TH after hearing about my bad experience. Back at 9PM.
Started from the trailhead at Cameron Pass around 6:15AM. Hardened snow until the trail branch for American Lakes. Snow shoes from there until start of ridge. Ridge has lots of exposed ledges, many hidden by snow. Nice weather except for occasional wind gusts. Back at car around 2PM.
I definitely took the unnecessarily loose and dangerous route up from Box Canyon to Static and then followed the ridge to Richtofen before dropping down to the ridge between Box Canyon and Skeleton Gultch and then back in to Box Canyon. Fun route, except for the absurdly loose upper reached of Box Canyon, with great views.
Came from the Michigan Lakes trail head and climbed the North-East Rige up. Came down the East face, a bit hairy. Cant wait to do again in Winter conditions.

Traversed the snowcoverd ridge from Richtofen. Decended back to Lake Agnes via the west side.
Route Climbed: ascended South Ridge, descended East Ridge Date Climbed: July 11, 2004
This was the final summit of the day after bagging Tepee and Richthofen. I was a little worried about the east ridge especially after Roach described Tepee's north ridge as class two. And though the exposure was very sustained I found the scrambling very enjoyable.

From Richtofen...This was a chill walk after Richtofen, but a heart racing decent via the east ridge, down to Snow Lake.
