all season route possibleSouth Guardian can be approached without having to cross the subway, get wet, or negotiate class four terrain by a long route around greatheart mesa. It is a passable route anytime except when there is snow on the slickrock. Go nearly to the drop in point for the Right Fork of North creek slot and head west. A truly gonzo hiker might with incredible effort hike this route in a day on the summer solstice, but I wouldn't evny him/her. My estimate is 7-10 hours one way.
