Best route in Socal
Winter ascent; tons of sugar snow, while slow to climb this allowed us to enjoy the snowboard descent that much more. Somewhat epic due to mega snow, TR here: http://zoomloco.xanga.com/722368848/mountain-top---keep-climbing-up-way-above-us-the-desert-snow-/#viewcomments

The Legal Way
Climbed with Rick Kent via Rick's legal route. We started at the 111/Snow Creek Road and hiked across the desert floor before gaining the ridge East of Snow Creek village. We continued North on the ridge and eventually traversed off and crossed Falls Creek and into Snow Creek.

Memorable
I went up with a great group, including someone who knows the route well. My post-climb buzz lasted for a week. Here is my trip report.
It was a fun climb with very interesting approach through the bushes, bolders, creeks. We did a direct summit with ~55deg bolder slope covered in a snow. Started at 4:15 am and reached the summit by 5:25 pm

8x
My 8th time up (this was my 4th time up on the 2009 season). Dayhiked with with Paul, Alexander and Quang. Alexander and Quang came back a 2nd time to Snow Creek to redeem themselves. Snow conditions were very soft and some bridges collapsed so we had more rock scrambling to do. Route is almost done for the season.

Finally got my first attempt at the north couloir and am pretty pleased to have summitted in 12 hours under perfect weather conditions and great snow (except the last few hundred feet). Great group of guys - Miguel, Paul, Ron, Steve, Gene, Alex and my man Dave. Happy to have checked this one off!

Wow
What can I say, it was an amazing day. I new this was going to be a big climb, but I still underestimated it. I had no idea of that approach, but, once past the chokestone, it was amazing. Unfortunetly, my camera fell in the creek just below the chokestone, so I only have a few pictures (90 to be exact). Also, if anyone finds sunglasses in the part where the trail crosses the creek in the section that leads to the Class 3 bypass, let me know.
I want to thank Miguel for putting it together. Also, it was nice getting to know him, along with Dave, Deb, Steve and the other guys. Also, it was nice to get to climb with Gene again.
Great day overall. We say one big group of skiers come down and then another guy who had climbed up and then skied down. I couldn't have asked for more. Trip Report coming soon

Beautifull day of climbing via Snow Creek with Miguel and Jon. We day hiked it and I made it to the summit in just under 12 hours. Lots of tracks due to the rescue up there the day before. It's hard to believe there is such an unbelievable alpine climb so close to home. I will definatly be doing this climb again.
