Great experience
Great hike in a remote and beautiful part of the state. The views from the summit are stunning and there is a feel of utter remoteness. The hike out on the road drags a bit though...

Long rewarding day
Climbed with Ken Jones. Camped at rescue beacon, then started the loooong road walk in darkness, 5:30 am. Scramble and climb was fun, no big issues on navigation, then that looooong road walk back out. Beautiful mountain with a different character than other Goldwater-Cabeza Prieta mountains. Got pulled over twice by the BP.

Sierra Pinta
Going into the unknown was a bit unsettling, but my CR-V handled the sometimes-sandy road just fine. The road walk is as bad as advertised, but the Pintas are worth it. Chris, Scott Peavy, and I all summitted just after noon and had some time to soak in the remote view before having to hustle back. Fun, solid rock hopping until the last couple hundred feet and look for some of the tinajas. All kinds of sheep signs, but no sheep sightings

Wowza
Scott P, Scott K and I got together to climb this remote desert beauty! Entered the BMGR around 6:15 AM, left it around dusk, and were pretty much constantly on the move in between. The walk in was indeed boring, but the bushwhacking was excellent--interesting enough to be fun, and yet sensible enough to figure out. Took us 4:05 up and a similar time back.
This can be done in one very, very long day...but take the time to camp near the Guzzler and explore this surprisingly pretty area if you can. A worthwhile area, if you can put up with the long drive and long approach hike...

Sierra Pinta Peak
Long slog on an old road, then a short scramble to top. Wonderful views. Also climbed and signed in at Cabeza Prieta peak and Peak 2016 out of Tule Well around the same time frame in 2007.

HP Sierra Pinta
One of the tougher AZ top 100 prominence peaks.
A looong walk in to Heart Tank, and then a very rugged
gully bushwack to the top. Not many entries in the register.
