My wife Penelope and our friends Dave and Elaine Baldwin hiked this thing from the Sugarloaf TH on Sunday, April 02, 2017. There were wildflowers everywhere and a healthy water stream in the Horse Thief Canyon. How nice to see this after all these years of drought.

From Martinez
After getting down the somewhat tedious gully from Martinez, it was a pretty nice walk over to Sheep Mtn. The cross country travel was easy with no bushwhacking. Sheep Mountain itself is nothing to write home about, but the area in general is pretty scenic.
