Up from Powerstation, Down via Castle Rock
Took a nice late evening jaunt up this little mountain with my father-in-law. Came up from the Powerstation on the north end. Decided to descend down the south ridge and bagged a little peak that is on my NatGeo Trails Illustrated Map called Castle Rock. The descent required some scrambling, but ended up being a good side adventure. Got back to the car just as the streetlights came on. The trail up was steep, but very defined pretty much the whole way up.
Short and steep. Also did Beaver Mountain, 8641, 8220, and Temple Peak.

Not the best
This was a nice workout. My husband convinced me to go one day after work. Trail is very loose and steep, I'm glad I did it, but I don't think I'll be convinced to go back.

Steep!
I was in Logan on business and got out for a few sweet trail runs/hikes. I did this after work. It is one of the steepest trails I have ever been on. Slogged to the summit in 56 mins. On the way down I ran into a rattler on the steep rocky section. It was pissed! Very fun, but not sure I will go back because this is really steep. Great views.
Nice view of the valley and Logan Peak. Steep and loose trail, I agree that it is a good trainer.

Saddleback Mountain
Good early season mountain to hike since the snow melts off early. The trail is steep but short.
5/7/20 - I like the steep challenge going up Saddleback, but I really hate coming down (note to self...bring poles next time).

My little mountain
Baaa. 2nd time up the mountain and I went about as hard as I can, 56 minutes on the ascent, 46 minutes on the descent. The 2 months that I have lived in the shadow of Saddleback Mtn. will have a special place in my memory for as long as I live.
Nice hike up the mountain right above Logan Canyon. The summit closest to the reflectors is slightly higher and has a cairn. The summit that is a little farther away has a good view of Green Canyon.
