Gotta Love Goats
Traveling north to south we had to exit just before Ptarmigan Spire and downclimb to the Ptarmigan tunnel trail due to time constraints.
If I were to take someone to Glacier who has never been before I would take them up Iceberg Notch then across this beautiful goat trail to Ptarmigan Tunnel and take the shortcut over to Redgap Pass and run down the trail to Poia Lake and get some crucial caving in before hiking down to the Many Glacier entrance station in order to hitchhike back to the Many Glacier Lodge and finally calling it a day!
September 2001
What a day! A fantastic route all the way to Ahern Pass. We actually ran into a single goat coming the other way just beyond the most exposed section. We thanked him for providing the trail as we let him pass. The highline trail out to the loop was not too shabby either.

Best Route in GNP
I had a helluva weekend in 2005. We started at West Glacier on a Friday morning around 5:30 am. Hit the Loop trail up to Granite Park Trails cabin where my hiking partner had to be to work that morning. I met up with some folks and we set off to summit Gould. That evening I joined them for dinner and the next morning set off for a solo traverse of the Ptarmigan Wall Goat Trail. I arrived in Swiftcurrent just before dark to join friends for car camping complete with wine and gourmet food.

North to South to Iceberg Notch
Probably the best day I've had in GNP. Done with the GMS. Simply put, this will blow the top of your head off!

Re: North to South to Iceberg NotchI guessed approximately when I walked this but if my guess was right we did it only a few days apart.
