A verry misty top

Misty on Top
In spite of Nanuls’ disdain for this route we found it to be an enjoyable hike up into the ubiquitous mist!

From Glen Nevis campsite
Ascended via the pony track and descended via the Carn Mor Dearg arete which gives great views of the north face, camped at the Glen Nevis Campsite. Climbed again on the 24th, ascending and descending via the pony track.

Guiding to the top of UK
A group of 12 persons. Started at 6:00 am at Glen Nevis Youth Hostel. 10:00 top and 13:00 back down at Glen Nevis. Some mist around 1000 meters. Snow on the ground around 1.200 and a patch of old snow crossing the route at about 1.300 meters. Still plenty of snow from the winter at the N gullies...Showers continuously.
Long long plod... But it is the easy route (even if it is a bit tedious!)
Coming down late afternoon we saw people starting off up with the weather closing in (traditional Scottish style!) carrying the standard tesco carrier bag and wearing trainers...

Zig-zag, Zig-zag, Zig-zag......
Nice early morning amble up to the lochan, then those damned zig zags. They just seem to never stop! Seen a woman on our descent going up in a pair of slippers. What's that all about?

Descent routeAscended the first section of the path a few times, but fully used it as a descent a couple of times in full winter conditions. Could see bugger all.
