"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Five Summit TraverseFive peak traverse with Stefan. East, Middle, West Camas Peaks, Camas and Lion Points. Beautiful early fall day, with a tiny skiff of snow on the north facing rock, made for some careful hand/foot placement!

Camas TraverseHiked over here along the ridge from West Camas. Last peak of the day on this traverse I finally got around to doing. Not heading up Ward for this one (already been up that route to Ward from Camas on a different trip, also short October days) This is another fine summit.
Final thoughts on the Camas Traverse: Nothing particularly difficult, although lots of rock hopping involved. Would be better without wet, snowy rocks. West Camas is especially fun. Doesn't take too long (casual 8 hours?) Beautiful lake basin that I don't visit often enough. Yeah- I say go for it.

Once Again30jun09 - Climbed 5 summits today - East, Middle, & West Camas Peaks plus Camas and Lion Point. A great early season outing.
19jun09 - And the third time was with Jim Greenfield and my wife, Linda. The weather threatened all day, but never did give us a problem.
12jul08 - Bob Sihler and I made this one of the five summits we climbed during a point-to-point outing which began at the Camas Lakes Trailhead and finished at the standard trailhead for Ward Mountain.
25jun08 - Climbed to the summit of this peak for the first time. Did so on well-consolidated snow.
