Description

I am looking to do 3 trips this winter and would prefer to have a reliable partner:

1. A 2 or 3 day traverse through the High Peaks including Algonquin, Marcy, etc. this Jan or Feb.
2. A 2or 3 day Presedential Traverse in NH this Feb or March.
3. A winter ascent of Katahdin - guided is the easiest way to get permits into the park.

I am in decent shape, keep safety first. I have a bit of technical experience on steep snow, glaciers, but none on ice. I like to hit summits.

I'm also interested in ski tours, tele.

Hey-- I don't have any interest in paying for a guide, but my girlfriend and I are looking for partners to climb and ski above treeline on Katahdin in Feb or March. We're planning a 4-5 day trip. Getting permits will be no problem on our own as we have alpine experience in the Whites and out West--we just need a party size of four. E-mail me if you're interested prburke1@juno.com

A winter ascent of Katahdin would be so great. I've climbed it twice in the summer/fall, and it is my favorite mountain in the Northeast. It is supposedly easier than in years past to gain access to the mountain in winter. I'd be game.
