This isn't a waterfall tool adapted to alpinism; this tool was developed specifically for technical climbing on all of the world's mountains.

The modular head is hot-forged. The shaft permits good “clearance ” to overcome any bulges without levering the pick out of the ice. The lower part of the shaft is relatively straight, which penetrates hard snow easily. The natural rubber grip is flush with the shaft.

The Easy-G leash allows rapid manipulation: brilliant support on steep terrain but quick to open with a gentle sideways pull. It is efficient in the mountains where one continually transitions between the head and shaft of the tool. This leash represents real progress in an unexpected field.

Note: Prices those in Europe

when I bought these tools I was looking for an alpine/waterfall ice tool, and was iffy it they would perform well on waterfall. But they did, they are lighter than most tools at 22.8 oz and most of the weight is in the head so they swing with eaze, they also plunge well. They Easy-G leashes are great to hang in and very easy to get out of to clean or while placing a screw.

perfect
These tools are perfect for me for alpine ice. I could not be happier with them. Light weight, solid technical features. A joy to use.

Awesome
It's a shame they stopped making them. If you can get your hands on a pair of Alp Wings or Light Wings, they are one of the best alpine tools out there. If they're good enough for Steve House and Vince Anderson on the Rupal Face, they'll be just fine for whatever you're doing.
