Re: Love This!Thanks,
This was a special climb. The route is very alpine and a lot more interesting than the normal route by the south-east ridge. On the other end of the rope is Ueli Bühler with whom I have climbed several mountains. A minute after the picture was taken I stepped up on the rocks. Ueli pointed with his ice axe at a metal plate on a piece of rock. I looked briefly and noted something that looked as two names and a date. I couldn't read the names so I just nodded. You don't say anything in situations like this. You just understand. We moved on to the summit where we fed some ravens peanuts.
A year later someone told me that the memory plate high on the Mönch was celebrating Ueli's two older brothers who had fallen to their deaths when climbing the Nollen route. What do you say?

Re: Great shotThanks.
To quote late kletterwebbi:
“From the start of the ridge you scramble up some easy rock. After some easy pitches you reach a kind of a step, this is the most difficult point of the route (rock climbing up to UIAA Grade III). After this step mainly follow the ridge.”

Hopefully there are a few things about the Eiger in my contributions that can be of interest.
