Updated Captiondesainme is correct. Dudley is en-route to the knife edge trail, which begins just after the summit of Pamola Peak. I didn't think anyone would actually check my profile. Thanks!
I'll try to dig up some more good pics.

Thanks EveryoneI just created my SummitPost page yesterday and it is nice to see friendly messages from so many people. I'm glad you liked the image. It was taken by my girlfriend, Karen. Since everyone seems to like this shot so much, I posted another nearly identical one from the year before (2005). I just have to climb Pamola's Finger every time I go up the Dudley trail.

Re: Granitebeing a geologist my nerdyness forces me to respond. Yes Katahdin is essentially granitic in composition, but has many dikes and is foliated, therefore it is technically a gneiss. In fact most of the 'granite' in the neighboring granite state of New Hampshire is gneiss too.
But yes, for all non-nerdy purposes, it is granite. I'm not even a petrologist, so imagine how nerdy they are!

Re: GraniteWe talked about this yesterday in my geology class. You're nerdyness is forgiven. :)

How do I...How do I get to Pamola's Fniger from Pamola Peak? The summit marker is right on the Knife Edge and when I hiked Baxter and Pamola, I didn't see the Finger or any side trail near the peak. Also, how hard is it to get to the top?
Great picture.
