familliar viewwow, that view bring back some memories. I spent 5 nights alone at that camp after hitchhiking from Calama. Im surprised that nobobdy has added San Pedro to summitpost. It is a nice objective. I just saw it in the distance from town, packed a bunch of water and headed out.

Re: familliar viewyes I summitted just a few minutes after sunrise. There is a large crater on the summit that was fuming strongly. The view was very surreal. Two days later I tried for the other one (???) of the twins but wasnt feeling well and for some reason I thought the route looked quite dificult (I dont think it actually is though) Hitchhiking out took just one full day.

HeyThat's a cool photo!
The times before digital cameras...
But did you took that shot from the col between San Pedro and San Pablo? Because if you did, the altitude at that place is around 5.300 m.
But if you went by the normal route, the 4.600m altitude probably is correct!
Anyway, great photo!
Btw, i could adopt your Llaima volcano page. I know the volcano, how to get there and i even took a photo of him. Never climbed, just took a shot.
Cheers!
