Date of photo?Just curious - was this photo taken in the last few weeks or is it from winter time? Was thinking of doing Thielsen in the next week or so, but if that's what the summit pinnacle looks like, I'll wait till next year. Much thanks.

Re: Date of photo?This photo of Thielsen's spire was taken in February of 2001. It usually looks like this until mid-March.
As for the Broken Top photo, it was taken in late March 2002.

Rime ice?Probably névé, curled by wind and sun rays. But i sure agree, it looks for all the world like Cerro Torre, only this one does NOT feature a compressor route!
