I live walking distance from the trailhead and have done Mount Sanitas (and Dakota Ridge and the Valley trail) numerous times, often with my daughter in the pack. Great little escape & a great workout.
Great hike next to Boulder. Hiked/ran it in the am before work and still made it there by 8:00.

Sanitas
Been up a few times but this was the latest one. Best time up the 'short' way is 34:30. I would love to go up in sub-30 some day but I'll have to work at it hard. Great mountain for training.

Hike then Boulder
Hike the south ridge. Bring your rock shoes and stash them for a bouldering session on the way back down. Makes for a nice afternoon combo.

Went out for a trailrun on Easter Sunday (not knowing it as such) and was nearly to the top of SAnitas before I realized I was heading toward the top. Great hike with yet more great views of Boulder and the Front Range.
I'm ashamed to admit that, after 1.5 years in Boulder, this is my first time up Sanitas. Great little hike. Reasonably rough, but short and with great views. We watched the snows moving east on the ascent and they hit just as we summitted. Our descent through the open valley was marked by picturesque snow and foggy views to the south. Very nice. I'll return and use this as a training climb.

When asked about the best reasons to live in Boulder, Sanitas is near the top of the list. Offering a mountain get-away right outside of town, this is one of my favorite quick escapes.

I have hiked this mountain many many times - probably have done every combination and order of the trails. Great place to go after work to get a great workout in, or early season training when the trails at higher elevation are still under snow. Be prepared for lots of people and dogs and runners.

Nothing better to do...I had a couple hours to spare while in Boulder on a business trip, so I ran up this peak for a little exercise. Some time in the late 1990's.
