From Fall River Road
Two days after Longs Peak we did the "easy triple" of Chapin, Chiquita, Ypsilon. Perfect weather all the way and we made friends with a Marmot who let me get within 3' to take his picture.

From Chapin Pass TH
My first 13er. Climbed after Chapin and its false summit. Windy that day, not many people. Easy hike.

Fall River Road Approach - Climbed with Ypsilon
I summited Mount Chiquita first. From the summit Ypsilon is a short distance away with minimal elevation drop and gain. You'll probably see more people on Chiquita than you will on Ypsilon. Nothing fancy about this mountain...just an easy peak with great views.

From Chapin Pass
We climbed Chapin, Chiquita, and Ypsilon and were on our way back to the trailhead when storm clouds moved in. We made it below timberline before the sky began to rumble. When we got back our vehicle we were soaked, but satisifed.

SW Slopes
From Chapin pass. We were going to do more, but typical Continental Divide winds stopped us.
Route Climbed: SE Ridge Date Climbed: September 2000
An absolutely delightful day! Cool to warm weather, no people and no wind. Overcast all day though. Almost stepped on some ptarmagin! First time I've seen them. I hit Chapin mtn. first on the way up.

Climbed Chiquita as peak #2 of the Mummy Mania traverse. Easy climb from Chapin along gentle slopes, although the snow was still pretty deep in the trees. Too bad it's not ranked!
Route Climbed: Old Fall River Road Date Climbed: Sept 2002
This was my first ever hike in Colorado. Having come from KS less than a week before, can you say: "NEED OXYGEN?!" Seriously, it kicked my butt from the get-go... my competitive drive kept me trekkin. We first summited Mount Chapin, then Chiquita, then Ypsilon. The group started 20 strong, was 18 after Chapin, and was only 10 by the time we hit Ypilson. Yep, I wasn't the only one from SEA LEVEL in the crew! As I look back at this day, I laugh. I hiked in normal tennis shoes, and CARRIED (no pack) 2 nalgene bottles. Yep, I've come a LONG way baby! Enjoy it!
