Sorry Gangolf, didn't happen to notice your question before. I actually don't have any idea who they were. I had a friend in school named Bangs...probably not him though.
There are sparse cacti above 6000' on this mountain -- the manzanita cover is very thick in places. On the west side, one sees the usual beavertails and barrel cacti at mid elevations.
Good one Casey. I have wondered about this peak since I have driven by it on different trips to Valley of Fire and Lake Mead. I haven't been over there in several years now.

Untitled CommentGood page of this remote mountain. Who were Bangs or Hancock? Any idea?

Untitled CommentI was expecting some cacti in the pix but I guess it is too high to support these. PS did you notice that SP also has a member named Brutus?

Untitled CommentI've driven by this mountain many, many times. One of these days, I'll hafta head up there and tag the summit.
Nice page - I'm assuming the off-trail section of the route is self-explanatory when you get there?

Untitled CommentI'm going to put a route page up soon to explain, although it's not too hard to find a way up.

Untitled CommentThanks for the vote Joe. We should try meeting up again in the La Sals, or somewhere around there.
