North Face
Started out in good weather and arrived on the summit in heavy fog. Saw nothing. But that of course did not take away from the fact that it was a super fun climb!!! Lots of snow this year and getting down the 55 degree slope was a bit tricky in the soft and mushy snow. Still a great day in the mountains!

From Baite del Pastore
A nice climb from the Baite del Pastore in Val Zebrù. We summited in less then 3,30 hours.
As the final ridge was busy with 2 slow rope teams, we went on the left and climbed the steep face directly under the summit.
A nice day with wonderful views of Suldengrat at Gran Zebrù and Hochjochgrat at Ortles.
Route Climbed: Normal route Date Climbed: July 15, 2002
Despite the weather wasn't good we decided to give it a try. And a short time after we entered the Zebru glacier we came into the whiteout. There was almost no visibility but with a bit of luck we now and then saw the bivouac hut "Citta di Cantu", 200 meters height lower than the summit. There we waited for about an hour and hoped that the weather would get better. But no chance! So we decided to return.
On the way back, down the glacier, visibility got better and we decided to try "Grosser Eiskogel", to the right of our descent route. Up a steep snow slope and then first along a snow ridge and later onto rock. The rock was covered with fresh snow and ice and climbing with the crampons on the rock was not easy. So about 50 meters below the summit we returned.
